Lana Bloom, desperate to save her mom and with no other option in sight, is forced to sell the only thing she has of value…herself. Repulsed by her boss and with no other recourse, Lana resolves herself to go through with her plan…That is…. until she makes eye contact with a handsome stranger across the room.

Blake Law Barrington lives a life of wealth and privilege. Handsome, rich and future heir to the Barrington banking fortune, Blake is used to getting what he wants, when he wants it… right now he wants Lana… and he is willing to pay any price to have her.

I’ve long since sworn off reading any books with billionaire, millionaire, or any other type of “aire” in the title but it was something about this particular book that caught my eye. To be honest, I was fully expecting this to be a FSOG knock-off and while there were some similarities in the beginning, this book quickly took on a life of it’s own.

The writing style took some getting used to as I’m not a fan of third person, present tense narratives.(been known to totally ditch a book because of it) However, the more I read ‘The Billionaire Banker’, the more engrossed I became in the story and it’s progression and I really, REALLY ended up enjoying the book.

The story was well-written and the plot truly unique in this age of billionaire meets naive virgin, they have kinky sex, fall in love and well, you know the drill. With ‘The Billionaire Banker’, Carre managed to turn what could have been your usual, predictable billionaire story into a deliciously erotic and intriguing read, full of twists and turns on every page.  Kudos to you Ms. Carre.

The characters were absolutely addictive. Fairly dynamic with a unique richness all their own. When I’m left wondering about even the supporting characters and asking myself .......read the rest at:  http://nightstandnovels.com/erotic-fiction/review-the-billionaire-banker/

Review: Seductive Secrecy By Marni Mann
Review: Seductive Secrecy By Marni Mann

Seductive Secrecy, book two in the Shadows series was just as riveting, if not more-so, than the first in the series, Seductive Shadows. Mann was able to bring a nearly perfect conclusion to this dark and sensual journey of self-discovery, forgiveness and love.

Seductive Secrecy begins where book one left off, six months after the take down of the infamous mansion. Where Mann was extremely detailed in setting the scene in book one… she, surprisingly, didn’t spend much time on the specific details of the take down itself, choosing instead to reveal just enough about the mansion so that we know what happened and to whom but not in such detail that it becomes irksome. She solely focuses on the main characters, Charlie and Cameron as well as a few pivotal supporting characters who play a major part in the unfolding of their story.

With the Mansion behind them, Charlie and Cameron are trying to gain some semblance of normalcy in their lives. Charlie’s career has taken off and her paintings are in high demand. She and Cameron are working at building a ...... Read the rest of the review at:   Nightstandnovels.com

REVIEW: Grave Intentions

Grave Intentions - Lori Sjoberg

David, forced to become a reaper to atone for past sins. Tortured, troubled, and just existing as opposed to living . He’s closed off his emotions and feelings in order to deal with the gruesomeness of his job as a reaper and he likes it that way, that is, until he meets his lovely neighbor Sarah. Will David be willing to open up the heart he’s kept locked for 60 years or is he content drifting though life alone.

Sara, beautiful and analytical by nature. If it can’t be proven by science it doesn’t exist in her world. After losing her mother to dementia and certain that her grandmother is more than likely headed down that same path, Sara is determined to find a cure for the lunacy that she is sure will befall her as well until she hears screams coming from the apartment of the hot neighbor she’s been ogling ever since he moved in. Will this encounter change everything that she’s ever known? Will Sara put aside theory and go after the guy her mind tells her cannot possibly exist?

I stepped out of my comfort zone with this book and tried a genre that I don’t normally read and I am so glad that I did. I loved this book. I really didn’t know what to expect when I started reading but something about the cover and the blurb drew me in.

I was surprised that other than the main character being a reaper, the paranormal aspect took a backseat to the romance in the sense that it didn’t play such a significant role in the storyline.(I actually enjoyed the paranormal aspect as it pertained to grandma Pearl.)

Grave Intentions was well written and flowed rather nicely although somewhat slowly at first. The characters were relatable and despite their being supernatural, the story was totally believable.

The inner conflict of the hero added a realism and .........READ MORE AT:

Their Virgin's Secret, Masters of Ménage, Book 2

Their Virgin's Secret - Shayla Black, Lexi Blake Review originally post at Http://nightstandnovels.com

Their Virgin’s secret, book 2 in the Masters of Ménage series, focuses on the Lennox brothers… Burke and Cole, whom we briefly met in Their Virgin Captive

Burke and Cole, identical twins, have no one to depend on but each other. Raised by an uncaring, mentally abusive uncle after the death of their parents, Burke and Cole are damaged goods.

His self-esteem shot, Cole believes that he is undeserving of love and affection, while Burke has managed to seemingly overcome the negativity and damage done to his self-esteem…at least on the outside.

Jessa Wade grew up living a privileged life. Tired of trying to please her parents, Jessa decides that she wants to pursue her true love..art. Kicked out of the house and cut off from her parents support, Jessa is forced to rely on her aunt for a job and a place to stay. Having spent all of her time being the good girl her parents wanted, Jessa is determined to live life on her own terms.

Lexi Blake and Shayla Black have done it again with Their Virgin’s Secret! I really enjoyed this story, even more so than the initial book in the series. The storyline was exciting and suspenseful and kept me wanting more.

I’m usually not a fan of the flashback scenarios but in this case…. it worked! The story flashes back and forth between the characters first chance meeting one year prior and present day. The flashbacks are very necessary in order for us to get the full understanding of how the characters came to connect and why they now act the way they do.

Although Jessa was a bit unreasonable and naive at times, she managed to hold her own with the twins. I absolutely loved the Lennox brothers…especially Cole. I just wanted to reach out and fix him myself. Dominant and authoritative, yet unsure of himself and wanting to be loved….How could that not tug at your heartstrings? I also liked the way Burke, the more easy going of the pair, cared and was concerned about his brother’s well being and wanted nothing more than to help him deal with the issues their uncle caused. He brought that same care and concern into the relationship that he shared with Jessa. The way they dominated Jessa as one and made her ask for what she wanted and needed from them made me swoon. She got over her shyness Real quick. lol The way that the Lennox boys were able to communicate with just their eyes without really “communicating” was a true testament as to just how connected they were. They were truly halves of a whole( as Jessa often stated) and together they made for the perfect man. I’m on the lookout for my halves of a whole now hehe!

Again, I enjoyed the suspense aspect of the novel which kept me up way past my bedtime reading in order to find out what would happen next. It was much more developed this time around and was an integral part of the story.

The menage aspect, while not “in your face” and over the top, served to add to the story without overpowering it. The Dom/sub scenes were tastefully done, in a loving and caring manner which really managed to solidify the connection between the characters. And oh yeah, they were hot, Hot and more HOT!

Black and Blake also introduce us to Rafe and Kade, two delectable Doms of royal descent, whom I suspect will get a whole lot more air time in Their Virgin Concubine..Book 3 in the series.

Their Virgin Captive: Masters of Ménage

Their Virgin Captive - Shayla Black, Lexi Blake My love for Lexi Blake's two novels, The Dom Who Loved Me and The Men with the Golden Cuffs led me to her collaborative effort with well known erotic author Shayla Black.

Their Virgin Captive, the first book in their `Masters of Ménage' series, focuses on the handsome and sexy James brothers, oil tycoons with a penchant for dominance and sharing. ~wink~ ~wink~

Dex and Slade, the younger of the brothers, have formed a close bond having attended college together. They've also been known to share women from time to time so its no secret that when big brother Gavin's secretary Hanna catches their eye, they devise a plan to make her theirs for good.

Big brother Gavin, forced to take over his father's company after his untimely death, feels like he is on the outside looking in as far as his brothers are concerned. Having had to focus on working while they were off at college partying, he doesn't feel as close to them as he wants to be. It doesn't help that he also has his eye on his innocent little secretary but past demons won't allow him to love again.

Hannah Craig, Gavin's innocent and slightly naive secretary, has managed to steal the brothers hearts without even realizing it. She's had feelings for all three for a while but fears that they would never be interested in someone like her. Besides, she's heard the rumors about the brothers, shall we say extracurricular activities, so she is content to fantasize about them and snuggle up with her cat in the evenings to ease her loneliness.

Will Slade and Dex get Hannah to love them and more importantly can they stop Gavin from destroying himself? Will Hannah get the men she's longed for since she met them? Will Gavin get on board with his brothers plans for Hannah or will someone else threaten the love they all long for?

I really enjoyed this book for the most part. Haven't read many Shayla Black novels so I'm not as familiar with her writing style as I am Lexi Blake's and I could definitely see Lexi's influences throughout the story. The brothers were quite interesting in their own right and each possessed his own admirable traits. Dex, the hot headed protector; Slade, the attentive comforter and Gavin, the tortured, mysterious soul. I can totally see why Hannah had feelings for them because I, too, fell in love with all three. ;)

For those familiar with Lexi's novel " The Men with the Golden Cuff's", Slade reminded me so much of Adam that I swear she plucked him right from the pages of that novel and thrust him into this one. "Love" as his choice of endearment takes me right back there. ~swoon~

I loved the stalker storyline as well ( you know I'm a stickler for mystery and sex and if you give me both...I'm in heaven lol) but felt that the book could have been longer in order to develop that storyline a bit more. It seemed that the stalker aspect was only included as a means to thrust the foursome together. I was also a bit disappointed that clues as to the stalker's identity were given fairly early in the novel and this took away from the "sleuthing" aspect for me. I love to focus on the "whodunnit's" (the less predicable the culprit, the better) and was able to figure out the stalker's identity fairly early on *insert sad face here* but the story still managed to hold my interest and that is always a good thing!

I loved the interaction between the characters. It made me want to high five Hannah the way she was able to hold her own with three dominant men, which is no small feat might I add. She didn't do anything she didn't want to do and showed them that she was no pushover. The men, on the other hand, catered to her and treated her like a Queen. Sure, I wanted to smack Gavin at times for being such a douche bag when he knew that he really wanted Hannah but I really felt for him and enjoyed his character the most. The fact that a novel could warrant my involvement in such a way is a sign of good writing my dearies.

Of course some parts of the story were a bit unbelievable( not impossible.... but unbelievable, I say) like a virgin taking on two men in one night and three, the next..anal included but I guess that is why it's called fiction. In any event, it made for some steaming hot sex scenes. I'm talking fan yourself, get the cold shower ready ..HOT!

I'm such a sucker for a happy ending and Black and Blake did not disappoint. I've already started on the next book in the series and I'm sure that I'll enjoy it just as much

Training Tessa (Hot Texas Bosses #1) - Lyla Sinclair Review originally posted at : http://nightstandnovels.com

This book left me a bit dazed and confused as the book seemed more focused on the seemingly one-sided sibling rivalry than on any actual “training.”

It’s Tessa’s first or second day on the job as a “Receptionist Plus,” a position which she accepted without knowing what the actual “plus” entailed. Imagine her surprise when she is called into the office of one of her two handsome bosses because of a typing error and told to bend over his desk to be disciplined for her mistake. Tessa is shocked to learn that she enjoyed being disciplined and finds herself looking forward to more.

The chemistry between Mason, Dixon and Tessa is uneventful at best. Dixon spends a great deal of time trying to one up his older brother, so much so that when he appeared to get angry at Mason’s choice of punishment for Tessa, I was left wondering “Is he for real?” It took me a while to really grasp the fact that he actually had real feelings for Tessa and wasn’t just trying to outdo his brother. Up until my “AHA” moment, I was thinking that Dixon’s anger was part of the brothers “good dom/bad dom” schtick because the romance aspect, what little there was, wasn’t explained very well.. if at all. I wanted to know why Dixon felt the way he did about Tessa.

Mason, on the other hand, was indifferent and unemotional in my opinion. Sure he disciplined Tessa, spanked her, had her undress, ogled her but never had any intimate contact with her. Heck,I don’t think he even touched her…AT ALL! It’s like he wasn’t attracted to her. I kept waiting for a kiss, some chemistry, sexual tension, hell even hatred at this point but nothing. Over all, this book contained nothing more than sexual BDSM aspects with little to no substance. The only saving grace for me was the ending, I must admit that it did leave me wondering what happened next. As much as I hate to admit it, I will more than likely, be purchasing the second installment in Ms Sinclaire’s “Hot Texas Bosses” series if for no other reason than to tie up the loose ends left by “Training Tessa.”

Chained (When Bondage Meets Innocence) - Sabrina Sexton Review originally posted at Nightstand Novels (http://nightstandnovels.blogspot.com)

Krista, a 28 year old who had never been in a serious relationship, gets all dolled up in an attempt to finally seduce Damian, the man she has been lusting after for ages. She heads to the club only to find that just as she gets her nerve up, he is no where to be found. ( isn't that always the case) Determined not to waste a good outfit( I think she even had her "cute" boots on) she enjoys the club and ends her visit with the customary trip to the bathroom where she meets a stranger and is forcibly seduced. Overcome with fear and betrayed by her own body, Krista is forced to face some disturbing things about herself.

Damian, the hot, sexy bartender has had a thing for Krista from the moment he first laid eyes on her, but he needs to work on himself and isn't in a position to start a relationship just yet. After discovering Krista's best friend is dating a friend of his..he can't pass up the opportunity to pump her for information about Krista and put his plan in to action. When an encounter goes awry, Damian disappears and enlists the help of his bff Tyler. After a chance encounter brings Tyler face to face with his friend's crush...will Tyler do the right thing or give in to his own desires.

This book has everything from rear deliveries( if you know what I mean ~wink wink~) to menage! Although I'm not at all into forced anything, I found myself being sucked into the storyline. I really wanted the relationship between Krista and Damian to work out...even to the point of being disgusted when Krista met Tyler.... and I was rooting for Damien the entire time. I mean who wouldn't feel sorry for the guy after his best friend "steals" the only girl he had wanted for years, but somewhere down the line my loyalties changed. Maybe it was his overuse of the word "slut", maybe it was his hot-headedness, who knows ......~Sigh~ but I found that I could no longer be Damien's "ride or die chick" and Tyler, gentle and loving Tyler, started to win my heart.

Our heroine appears to have thrown all caution to the wind and embraces her newly found kinkiness, diving head first into the BDSM scene. Quite a stretch for someone who is supposed to be innocent and never had a "real" relationship with a man. The fact that untrained Krista, who has just discovered her submissive side, goes from having no sexual interest in women at all to becoming a hard switch her first time visiting a club is a bit unbelievable as well. The interaction between Krista and Miranda, a domme of 10 years had me feeling some kind of way. When the unattainable dom ended up nude and on her knees for all to see, the classic sub pose, I felt embarrassed for her...I wanted to scream out " Mama Nooooo....Girl don't do it"...it really bothered me for some reason and I found myself feeling really bad for Miranda. (Yeah, I'm weird like that)

Over all, the switch aspect definitely added an interesting dynamic to the relationships between Krista, Damian, and Tyler. The characters are likable and the sex is HOT so for those of you who like a lot of "action" in your novels, Ms. Sexton does not disappoint, these characters get down and dirty within the first few pages and the action doesn't stop until the end of the book. If you are looking for "hotness" to kick off your fall reading, check out "Chained"!
